Data Processing Consent Declaration

By enabling the option “Join now”, I, the data subject, consent to the processing of my Personal Data set out in clause 3 below which I carefully read and understood.  

I acknowledge that the Bank is committed to protect my privacy and handle my Personal Data in an open and transparent manner and always in accordance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (‘GDPR’) and with the Bank’s Privacy Statement which is available at the Bank’s branches and online at https://www.bankofcyprus.com.cy/en-gb/contact_us/privacy-notice/.

I understand, acknowledge, and agree that it is a prerequisite for my participation to the scheme that the Bank can and will be accessing, processing, retaining, and circulating information between the below mentioned Bank of Cyprus’ s Subsidiary companies on a day-to-day basis.

I further acknowledge that I have the right to withdraw the consent I give with this statement to the Bank at any time and if I choose to do that I will no longer be eligible to participate in the BOC Loyalty Scheme.

*If you do not wish to provide the above consent, it will be deemed by the Bank that you have not provided your explicit consent to access, process, retain and circulate the information thus you will not be able to participate in the Loyalty Scheme.

1.  CONTROLLER

The Controller of my Personal Data (as the term is defined in the GDPR) is Bank of Cyprus Public Company Limited, a public limited liability company with registration number HE 165, having its registered office at Stasinou 51, Agia Paraskevi, Strovolos 2002, Nicosia, Cyprus (the ‘Bank’)).

 2.  HOW THE LOYALTY SCHEME WORKS 

The Pronomia loyalty scheme ("the Scheme") rewards customers based on their overall relationship and association with Bank of Cyprus Public Company Ltd ("the Bank") as well as with Eurolife and General Insurance, part of the Bank of Cyprus Group.

The Scheme is geared at individuals who are customers of the Bank. In order to sign up for the Scheme and get assigned to one of the three levels (Silver, Gold, Diamond), customers must meet certain minimum requirements as well as additional signup criteria. Depending on their assigned level (Silver, Gold or Diamond), customers will enjoy specific privileges and benefits, which the Bank will be announcing through various modes of communication.

It's understood that customers' use of the privileges and benefits is optional.

3.  DATA PROCESSED

For the provision of the Loyalty Scheme, the Bank shall access, process, retain and circulate the below information/data to and from Eurolife, General Insurance for the purpose of my registration to the BOC Loyalty Scheme.

More specifically, such information will include:

  • CIF (Customer Information File)
  • Date of birth
  • ID number
  • Phone number

 4.  PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

By providing my consent, my Personal Data will be processed by the Bank when this is necessary in order to fulfil the following purposes:

  •  Eligibility: In order to determine my eligibility to join the Loyalty Scheme that the Bank offers.
  • Information on products/services: In order for the Bank to communicate to me any benefit, features and other information about products and services I already have with the Bank.

5.  MY RIGHTS UNDER THE GDPR

I acknowledge that, as a data subject, I have the rights provided to me under the GDPR, as these are also explained in the Bank’s Privacy Statement. Such rights include the following:

  • Right to withdraw my consent: I understand that I have the right to withdraw the consent that is hereby given to the Bank by un-enrolling from the Loyalty Scheme. I further understand that any withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before it was withdrawn or revoked.
  • Access to my Personal Data. I can receive a copy of the Personal Data the Bank holds about me and check that the Bank is lawfully processing it. In order to receive such a copy I can complete a web form through the Bank’s website (http://www.bankofcyprus.com.cy/en-gb/contact_us/).
  • Requestcorrection[rectification] of my Personal Data.
  • Requesterasure of my Personal Data, where there is no good reason for the Bank to continue to process it.
  • Object to processing of my Personal Data. I have the right to object to the processing of my Personal Data for direct marketing purposes. This also includes profiling in as much as it is related to direct marketing.
  • Request to receive a copy of my Personal Data concerning in a format that is structured and commonly used and transmit such data to other organisations [known as the right to data portability].
  • Request the restriction of processing of my Personal Data, i.e. if:
    • it is not accurate,
    • it has been used unlawfully but I do not wish for the Bank to delete it,
    • it is not relevant anymore, but I want the Bank to keep it for use in possible legal claims,
    • I have already asked the Bank to stop using my Personal Data, but I am waiting for the Bank to confirm if it has legitimate grounds to use my Personal Data.

6.  DECLARATION

I hereby understand, accept and acknowledge that the combination of my User ID and Passcode which constitute my identity verification by the Bank, is equivalent to my signature and I further agree and accept that the combined use will have the same result and effect as the signature under my own hand irrespective of any certification by any competent authority or agency.

Furthermore, I hereby agree and accept that the Bank will consider/perceive the combined use of my User ID and Passcode as entered by me personally and the Bank will not be liable in the event that my User ID and Passcode is used without my authorization by a third party due to my own negligence and/or recklessness and/or oversight and/or otherwise.
