Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation

The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation was established in 1984 and is housed in the old administrative building of Bank of Cyprus, built in 1936 and situated in the historical center of Nicosia. Since then it has developed a series of activities, in keeping with the objectives defined by the Bank. Its main strategic aims are to:

  • Protect and disseminate the culture of Cyprus and inform the public through engagement and education
  • Produce and encourage cultural research with cyprological interest
  • Provide sources in the fields of archaeology, history, art and literature, through its collections
  • Shift to research and development on cultural sustainability

  • Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage, in Nicosia
  • Museum of the George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection (donated by Clio and Solon Triantafyllides), in Nicosia, covering a wide spam of Cypriot history and archaeology
  • Pierides Museum in Larnaca, which hosts a Collection of Ancient and Medieval Cypriot Art, as well as a collection of maps of Cyprus
