In light of the situation regarding Covid-19, and in order to safeguard the public's health as effectively as possible - be it of its clients, partners or its front-end staff - Bank of Cyprus is taking additional precautionary measures by closing some of its branches.

Branches will be closed on a rotating basis according to the needs of a particular area and depending on day-to-day developments.

At branches that will be closed to the public, staff will continue to work regular hours, with priority assigned to the processing of applications concerning the suspension of loan installments.

Clients will be promptly informed of the rotating schedule in each area, posted outside all Bank of Cyprus branches. Certain modifications to the schedule are possible depending on developments relating to the pandemic.

The Bank wishes to assure the public that it continues to take all prescribed preventative measures at its branches, making special arrangements on an ongoing basis in a bid to contain further spread of the virus.

Nevertheless, and despite the strict safety measures being taken, Bank of Cyprus stresses that electronic means are the safest and fastest way for the public to carry out their banking business, and we urge subscribers to make as much use of the digital channels as possible.

The Bank recalls that the following preventative measures are already in place across all its branches:

• Priority service to vulnerable groups between 8am and 9am.
• Use of thermometres, hand sanitizers at branch entrances, latex gloves available to members of staff wishing to use them.
• Installment of plexiglass partitions at cashier counters.
• A new process for depositing cash over €2000 and/or 3 or more cheques, in order to minimize queue waiting times.
• Customer flow management inside branches, strictly adhering to Ministry of Health decrees and ensuring no more than one person per 8 square metres, including staff.
• Special signage on the floor alerting customers to keep a safe distance from the counters.
• Intensified cleaning and disinfection of the premises.
• For services involving on-site visits by clients, the visits are made by appointment and are limited to the absolute minimum.
