Young People Ask and Provide Solutions

This is the new institution announced at the end of 2025, as a variation and evolution of the Bank's successful student debate institution called "Young People Ask" (link).  The aim is to give a voice to the young generation of our country in offering solutions to real challenges, social and environmental, and to contribute to the formation of a more resilient society.

The first event took place in November 2025, on the topic of preventing and addressing environmental challenges and more specifically, floods. It took place at the Bank's Headquarters in Nicosia, through SupportCY, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence for Research and Innovation "Koios" of the University of Cyprus, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and the Cyprus Fire Service.

50 senior students from 5 Lyceums participated in an experiential simulation workshop for dealing with extreme weather events. The aim was to strengthen climate resilience and cultivate personal responsibility for environmental protection. The students worked with great success in groups and proposed flood prevention and response measures, developed ideas for informing the public and explored practical ways to implement them at school and community level.

In December 2025, a similar scenario was held with great success and impressive results at Larnaca Airport, in collaboration with Hermes Airports, and with the participation of senior year children from High Schools in the Larnaca district.
