Bank of Cyprus actively supporting Education Ministry's online learning drive

Bank of Cyprus, Public and Bionic are partnering up through the #SupportCy Support Network with an offer of 1000 tablets to children lacking the electronic means to follow from home the online courses provided by the Ministry of Education.

This grant enhances the efforts by the Ministry of Education in ensuring that the current school year is not wasted, by distributing to pupils electronic devices enabling them to gain access to online learning.

"Everyone has the right to education. Children are the future, and we are investing in our children through an all-round education," said Elli Ioannidou, Bank of Cyprus' Corporate Social Responsibility Manager. She added: "Particularly in these crucial times, respecting human rights, we have a duty to provide each and every child with the means to carry on learning without hindrance."

It is worth noting that the #SupportCy Support Network, created on the initiative of Bank of Cyprus in close partnership with the Reaction NGO, and leveraging the private sector to support the state in these difficult times, is being embraced by more and more partners, growing day by day and boosting the fight against COVID-19.
