We are looking for a Direct Tax Analyst who will manage the Bank’s direct taxation ensuring compliance with the tax and regulatory framework and optimising tax costs.

- Own the tax planning for the Bank’s direct taxation considering the Group’s strategy and developments in legislation.
- Analyse relevant information to determine and ensure compliance with the current tax legislation whilst owning the preparation and submission of the tax returns and tax payments.
- Monitor developments in the tax and regulatory framework, analysing the position against these and preparing update reports to ensure management and business unit owners can make effective and appropriate decisions.
- Support the Group’s business units with issues relating to direct taxation with the including loan restructurings, real estate management, asset sales and issuance of tax residence certificates.
- Cooperate with external consultants to check declarations and handle complex tax issues.
- Communicate with the tax authorities on issues relating to tax legislation and developments in the tax and regulatory framework as well as outstanding issues related to the Group.

- Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate degree in areas related to Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or other related fields.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CFA is desirable but not essential.
- Any relevant tax certification will be considered as an advantage.

- Direct Tax related experience is essential.
- Banking knowledge will be considered as an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Cyprus tax legislation.
- Problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and curiosity.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, including negotiation skills.
- Thoughtful, empathetic with excellent teamwork skills.
- Ability to carry out multiple tasks under pressure and within short deadlines.
- Ability to take initiatives and make decisions.
- Advanced knowledge of PC, MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax considerations in an intuitive way.
